High canine relapse case
This was a relapse case following previous orthodontic treatment completed elsewhere. The patient had not worn retainers consistently, and a damaged fixed retainer had not been repaired within a reasonable timeframe. Over time, one upper canine moved noticeably out of position and sat high above the dental arch.
Clear aligners are effective for many types of tooth movement, but vertical extrusion—bringing a tooth down into the arch—can be less efficient and less predictable with aligners alone. In this case, additional buttons and elastics were used to help move the canine vertically. These auxiliaries are not shown in the photographs.
Once alignment was complete, the case was finished with Zoom professional tooth whitening to brighten the final smile. Individual treatment needs and results vary.
Real patient case 1: when “bucky” front teeth are really a narrow smile
This patient was concerned that the upper front teeth looked too prominent or “bucky”. The important finding was not simply the front teeth: the smile was narrow, with dark buccal corridors and premolars positioned more towards the palate.
That combination made the front teeth look more dominant. Treatment focused on improving alignment and creating a broader visible smile with Invisalign. Whitening was completed later as a separate finishing step.

What we diagnosed
The front teeth initially looked disproportionately prominent because there was less visible tooth structure beside them. The pre-treatment views show the relatively narrow smile and the posterior teeth sitting further in towards the palate. This produced darker buccal corridors at the corners of the smile.
The diagnosis therefore considered the whole arch and smile rather than simply assuming the incisors needed to be pushed backwards.
How we did it
Invisalign was planned to improve alignment and broaden the visible dental arch within the patient’s individual biological limits. The aim was a more balanced smile with less dark space at the corners — not merely to treat the two front teeth in isolation.
Whitening was a separate final step. The increase in visible smile width came from orthodontic tooth movement; whitening changed the tooth colour afterwards. Photographs were taken at different appointments, so lighting and framing can vary. Individual treatment needs and results vary.
Real patient case 2: another narrow smile that can make the front teeth look prominent
This is a separate patient who demonstrates a similar visual effect. At first glance the front teeth can seem relatively prominent, but the overall smile is also narrow with less posterior tooth display.
The main Invisalign goal was to create a broader visible smile. Composite bonding was also used to repair a chipped front tooth. No teeth whitening was performed.
The photographs show the same patient at different appointments. Lighting, framing and positioning differ; this was not a whitening treatment. Individual treatment needs and results vary.

2. Records Taking & Measuring up.
Since Invisalign is custom made just for you, we need to take accurate photo, x-rays and digital scan records to measure you up and digitally plan your treatment. We use the latest and most accurate 3D digital scanner and made a 3D digital model from this that your new smile will be plan from.
3. Second Consultation - 3D Model.
By the time of your second consultation, Dr. Andrew Hamadi has planned and prepared a 3D model of your final smile. You will be able to see a simulation of how your teeth move and the result. From this, we can order your Clear Aligners.
